WORK GROUPS
WORK GROUPS - VOLUNTEERING WITH YOUR ORGANIZATION/TEAM!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering your time at Hope for Wildlife! We often welcome work groups who can spend time at our facility assisting with key tasks that help our wildlife rehabilitation centre operate smoothly.
If your team is interested in lending a hand, please review the details below.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to participate.
We recommend groups of 5–25 participants. We are generally unable to accommodate groups larger than 25 people.
Work group visits are generally scheduled on weekdays. If your group requires a weekend date, please let us know and we can try to accommodate.
We ask for a minimum commitment of approximately four hours of involvement.
Available tasks vary by season and may include:
Refreshing mulch in outdoor enclosures
Property maintenance
Cleaning and organizing facilities
Assisting with indoor activities such as gift shop-related tasks
Assigned tasks often involve physical activity and may be both indoors and outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather. We suggest sturdy footwear and layers for changing conditions. We may be able to provide indoor/seated tasks for participants with physical limitations - advance notice is appreciated so we can plan accordingly.
A lunchroom with a fridge is available for storing food or drinks, and washrooms are available on-site. We recommend bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Work group visits typically include a guided tour of our facilities and various education animals, depending on the length of your visit. Participants may also have the opportunity to meet Hope, subject to her availability.
To ensure the safety of both animals and volunteers, work group participants will not interact directly with wildlife patients. Assigned tasks will instead focus on supporting our team’s daily operations.
